Have you ever found yourself feeling stuck in your faith, or unable to become the person you feel called to become?

It’s God’s desire for each of His children to be transformed and renewed in the image of His Son, Jesus Christ. This ought to be the goal for every person who calls themselves a follower of Jesus.

But it’s not always that easy…

On the one hand, you know there are steps you can take to grow, change, and be transformed. But on the other hand, you can’t figure out why it’s so difficult to continue on the path of transformation and fully experience what God desires for you.

So what do you do when that’s the case for you?

How do you get unstuck? Is there a clear way to move forward? And, if so, what are the steps you can take to continue experiencing transformation in your life?

While the path and the process are not easy, they are clear. You can move forward and experience God’s transformation in your life on a consistent basis! Through commitment, discipline, and surrender each and every one of us can step into the transformation God has called us to!

If this is what you desire, we suggest you continue reading on as we share

3 Commitments Needed for Spiritual Transformation:

1. Vision for the Transformation

The starting point for any form of transformation is getting a vision for what needs to change and who you want to become. You need vision for yourself and for the future to see why the pains and challenges of the transformation are worth enduring. This type of vision is something that can only come when you seek God and His Holy Spirit.

The Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 3:16,

“But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.”

Seek the Lord with all your heart and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you and give you the vision for why this transformation matters and the difference it will make in your life and the world around you.

2. Intention Behind the Transformation

While having vision from God is crucial, it’s not enough on its own. You can “see” the transformation clearly, but until you put intention and action behind it you will not experience the transformation! James, the half-brother of Jesus, wrote,

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”

Once you’ve identified the change God wants to do in your life, then you must take intentional steps toward that change. Being intentional and disciplined in whatever actions God has revealed to you will breed the transformation you desire.

3. Obedience to the Transformation

Here’s the honest truth: This final commitment is by far the most difficult! Transformation is not easy, nor is it pain-free! Whenever God leads you on a journey of transformation you can be sure it will require doing things you would prefer not to do.

But it’s these moments of challenge and testing that separate those who experience lasting transformation versus those who simply find momentary change.

Jesus said in John 14:23-24“Jesus replied, ‘All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them. Anyone who doesn’t love me will not obey me.’”

In Jesus’ mind, it was quite simple: those who love Him will do what He says – no matter how difficult or what their personal preferences are. Those who commit to doing whatever Jesus says not only show their love for Him, but they tap into His transformative power in their lives unlike ever before!

So there you have it! These three commitments – Vision For It, Intention Behind It, and Obedience To It – are what’s needed if you want to experience spiritual transformation in your life.
